Intentionally living my ONE life

Feb 03, 2010

In the past three months, God has been teaching me through a variety of ways, that with my ONE life, I need to use it intentionally for His glory and for the sake of others.  For me, that has meant making some measurable, specific goals so that I will not just float through life with my sin nature dragging me down, but pursuing daily my Lord and His ways.

I want to be strategic in... 1) knowing God's Word, 2) Praying to God, 3) Serving God, 4) Relating with my family, 5) Conencting with the Body of Christ, and 6) Treating my physical body.

For me, I know that as I live out the days that God has given me, I am so prone to be selfish and lazy, but God has invited me into a story, a life, that is so much more than just about me, so I want to live this life well for Him.

I have also been encouraged this week, hearing about my brothers and sisters at WCC, who are thankful for God's mercies and are seeking to offer their ONE life to God in similar ways, making goals that honor the Life Giver.

May we live lives that are worthy of the calling that we have received.  May 2010 be a year where we disciplined ourselves and grew to be more like Jesus.

Praise be to Him!!!

Discipline is hard, but I can see why it's so important...otherwise it is just like you say, just wandering around without actually accomplishing what God has put me here for. Thanks for the encouragement to do what He already reminded me of before.
