Scott's Blog

The blog of Scott Miller, Senior Pastor of Willamette Community Church
For the past two Sundays, I enjoyed getting to teach about the CHURCH, the messed up, but oh so beautiful bride of Jesus. He so loved the CHURCH (his people, his gang) his bride, that he gave himself for her.
As we looked at the idea that this group, people, gang, etc. was meant to be tight, a Band of Brothers and Sisters. And in the past two weeks, I have been so encouraged to hear of people embracing each other in community and LIVING OUT this truth. I have seen...
- people opening up their home to a stranger who needs a place to stay
- hurting people calling a friend when they are in trouble, and just asking for help, sharing burdens
- people considering how God would want them to be more available to the body as opposed to being more isolated.
- people calling others who seem hurt, lost, or out of sorts.
Thank you, great people at WCC. As we embrace the truths of God and live them out, we will, by God's grace, continue to be more like the people that He has called us to be.

Keep it up!

I like to listen to music, and that seems to be a way that God speaks to me. Today I reheard this fantastic and moving song. It's a song by Building 429, entitled, "Always."
The singer tells a story about a young mom who came ...

In the past three months, God has been teaching me through a variety of ways, that with my ONE life, I need to use it intentionally for His glory and for the sake of others. For me, that has meant making some measurable, specific goals so ...

Recently, I was invited to come down to KHPE radio station and pray with listeners for a couple of hours. It sounded like a neat opportunity, so I said, "yes."
I didn't know what I was getting into, but in faith, I stepped out and ...

The other night, as I was winding down, I heard a faint cry from outside the door. It was our cat, Tilly.
She likes to go outside, but then realizes that it's 30 something degrees, and if she cries out, she will likely have the door ...
